Retaking the MCAT. Submit application now or after scores released?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
A popular option is to submit the AMCAS when it opens but only designating a single school (ideally one that you don't actually care about). That way your app will join the verification line early, so if your score is good you can just add all the schools you want to apply to. On the flip side, if your score isn't good enough and you need to retake the MCAT again and wait until next cycle to apply, you won't be considered a reapplicant to the schools you actually care about.
