Does anyone know how admissions committees evaluate two sets of MCAT scores. I retook in August, raising my total score by 3 points, adding two points each in verbal and physical, going down one point in bio. Do most schools just average the two?

Most take your most recent or best scores...most of the time it's the most recent set...

Some schools average...
Ones off the top of my head are Harvard, GWU, and Penn State.

For the most part, schools do not average...

From what I'll understand, they take the most recent score. In some cases they look for trends. Obviously, your positive trend will help you. Congrats

I've heard most look at both sets of scores (how could they not?) which ends up being the functional equivalent of averaging.
