I've been studying for the boards for about one week (five more left until the test), and I'm not sure how to spend the rest of my time. I originally planned to spend my first three weeks hitting each subject (with HY, BRS, etc.), then spend the remaining three weeks hitting FA/Qbank/BRS Path&Phys really hard.

I'm rethinking this because I feel really weak in general. I took the NBME Basic Sciences exam about a month ago and got a 180. I've done a couple hundred Qbank questions and have gotten 53% correct. I originally wanted about a 230, but now I'd be thrilled with 215.

So, should I spend the next two weeks going over individual subjects, or should I jump headfirst into the "proven" core resources I listed above and make sure I know them as well as possible?

Thanks, I really appreciate any advice.

I would say use FA and go through it using the other resources as a back up to clear up any unfamiliar concepts (and write them down as you go). Ie - you read in FA about Neuroblastomas and it says something like "PT FGH154 is missing so tx with Gfd1" and you have no idea what that means go to BRS and find out. (ps I made this up). Do Q bank simultaneously (or subject specific questions from Q book, Robins Review, etc) to make sure you can apply your knowledge. This will boost up your score from the start. Then if you have extra time (last two weeks) review all the material again, especially weak points and do a lot of random 50 Q bank. I think it's better to go through FA while you're fresh - and do the whole thing for sure then to save it until the end when you might be burnt out, deathly sick, or who knows.
