Just a question, I know for me, it's been a while since I've taken anatomy and I've been looking over my textbooks from undergrad to review. Does anybody have any other specific ways to review anatomy before going to PT school? I'd like some suggestions.

I have found myself in the same position 🙂 I just took out my A&P textbook from my college box and started reviewing--but other tips are MORE than welcome *sigh* lol...

^Same company that makes this makes a really exceptional full blown app called "complete anatomy" for PC/Mac/iPads (newer)
iPhone (and maybe android)? can run essential anatomy. I use both, they are indispensable resources for learning or being in the field. I also REALLY like a book called "trail guide to the body". Its a typical anatomy text but coupled with really detailed breakdowns of palpating specific muscles, and they did some really cool videos with explanations on palpations coupled with pictures of the muscles overlaid on the human models.

Thank you for this! (I'm a PC user myself) Are these resources you found helpful to prepare before starting the program or did you discover them to be useful during the program?

Complete anatomy is pretty awesome. Definitely useful for review before starting a program, and I can already tell it will be a great 3D visual tool for me to use during my program. If you want to get it, definitely wait until it's on sale. They seem to do pretty regular 50% off deals, so you can get it for $25 instead of $50. Most expensive app I've shelled money out for but totally worth it!

If you're looking at anatomy prior I'd recommend going through OINAs. (Origin insertion, nerve (including roots), and action) some teachers will focus on different things in class but OINAs are pretty consistent and will give you a big leg up

I am not in a DPT curriculum yet, just finishing up undergrad in kinesiology and shadowing as much as I can.
I am a bit of a tech geek so when I decided to go back to school I dug up any and all resources I could find . I also find that the visual aspect aids tremendously in memorization, because even if I "forget" the OIA, if I can imagine exactly where the muscle is and just wing it with reasonable accuracy.

To be clear "being in the field" I meant shadowing 😉

My apologies if that statement was misleading.
