Hey RFU ppl! I just had a few questions about the curriculum. Do RFU pod students take the same anatomy class as the med students first year? Are there any other classes first year pod students take with the med students? I know a bit about the med student curriculum there, cuz I know a few MS1s, and I wanted to compare it to the pod students.

You should ask this in the student forums, not the pre-med.

When I interviewed there yes they did, and perhaps maybe with some of the other programs like PT or that.

I am a first year Pod student at Scholl. We do take gross anatomy with the MD students first year, both lecture and lab. The M1s have a different exam schedule and grading system than we do, but we take the same anatomy exams as they do. We also take Essentials of Clinical Reasoning and an inter professional course (which includes 1st years of every program and RFUMS) with them. ECR is our 'how to be a doctor" class. Those are the only classes, so far, first year that we take with them, but we take most of the same courses taught by Scholl faculty (who are awesome). Hope that helps!

Great thanks a lot! So at RFU do you only take 1 class at a time or multiple classes? Like do you take just anatomy for 6 weeks? Do you know what classes the med students take along with their anatomy class (or do they take only anatomy by itself)?

We are currently taking 6 classes. Some are more time consuming and stressful than others. I'm not entirely sure about the med students, but I think they are taking 5 or 6 as well (I know of 4 for sure, 3 of them are with us). The courses are each on their own schedule, so we start and end courses throughout the year. For example, we take gross anatomy and ECR most of the year, we just started Microbiology/Immunology 2 weeks ago, and we will be finished with biochemistry/genetics in 2 weeks. A few new classes start in January and a few that we are taking now will end in February. It's a tad overwhelming when they add a new class, but it doesn't take long to get used it.
