Rheumatoid lung disease

Does anyone know anything about rheumatoid lung disease or have a good source on it? The first couple Google searches were pretty non-specific.

Not sure if you have access to UpToDate, but that's a pretty in-depth article on various lung diseases associated with RA.

I don't have access unfortunately. I appreciate the post though.

I'm just trying to gain an idea of what rheumatoid lung disease even is. I've read in some sources (which were vague, quite frankly) that it's a "collection" of lung disorders (whatever that means). UWorld, in contrast, mentioned it as pulmonary fibrosis; the attached article following the explanation led to just an abstract, and I couldn't get access to that article either.

Agree, although it's spelled Caplan mentioned many times in Big Robbins and Harrison's.

Rheumatoid lung disease is not the same as Caplan syndrome. Caplan syndrome is specifically a combination of RA and pneumoconiosis, both developing independently.

Rheumatoid lung disease is a rare manifestion of RA causing necrotising granulomas in the lung.
