RIP to the greatest forensic pathologist

Certainly legendary.

Rumor has it that Quincy was initially a transplant surgeon, however I haven't been able to track down a source for that; basically an acquaintance said they thought they remembered one of the episodes had him running on a beach while mentally preparing for a surgery, prior to becoming an M.E. But even a fan site only mentions that he had a private practice of some sort prior to taking a job in L.A. as an M.E.

One of my attendings (a hemepath guy) took to calling me Quincy when I told him I wanted to do FP. He had to explain to me who that was. Sounds like Quincy really was the first television portrayal of forensic path, paving the way for CSI, Crossing Jordan, and even the reality show of Dr. G.
