Thinking of getting it. Does it include pictures of the normal histology too? Any other comments on it?

I don't own the atlas.

However, I do own medium Robbins and Robbins Review. It seems that pictures from medium Robbins, Robbins Review, webpath pictures, FA pictures, Goljan pictures, etc.. you pretty much have a huge collection of pictures.

That's my thinking. Somebody who has it may be able to tell us how useful it is.

Oops, somehow missed that this was about the atlas, not just Robbins. I found that the pictures in Goljan were plenty sufficient for Step 1, but I needed to look at the class slides for tests. Maybe the atlas would help with that.

Yea, I don't think it will be that helpful for Step I. It seems like it could help remember some pathological details for tests though...

It's definitely nice to have since microscopic images are often labeled so you know what you're looking at. But some of the images you can actually find on big Robbins and esp. with so many resources available out there (webpath, goljan....etc), it can be an overkill. Buy it only if you have extra motivation and...money. 😀

Exactly how common is histopath on the USMLE? Our professor never took the exam but constantly harps on the importance of learning to identify the nitty gritty histopath.

They've supposedly been reducing its importance on the exam. So, not very important.

Decided to buy it. Paying six figures to go to school, seems silly to not buy something for $50 if I think it has even a fair chance of helping me...

It's not a matter of if it will be helpful or not. It's more of a question of if it will be a good time investment to use the atlas when you have other sources from which you could get the same information.

To each their own though.

I bought it and used it for Pathology and absolutely loved it!

I have baby Robbins. I enjoy reading it prior to getting started on each module/topic. After my first read, I use Goljan RR...
