i'm beginning to feel the rush of excitement and torture that will creep inside me this upcoming year. lol. does anybody else feel abused by this waiting game? 🙂 it really feels like i'm not in control of anything because of how time can play with the heart and mind. lol. and it's only the beginning for the application process--i'm already going insane waiting for my app to be verified.... SIGH just sharing my feelings atm with everybody... and wishing everybody good luck!!! hope we all get into a med school of our dreams.

Accepted applicant from last cycle. Yes it is a very crazy, very long, and very tiring process especially when you're flying to interviews across country and hoping back on a plane only to drive straight to school to attend class. Don't go crazy now or you'll be going even more crazy waiting for answers after interviews. Relax a bit but be diligent and chug out those secondary apps. Good luck~

Accepted here too.

This is only the beginning. Just a little tiny taste of what is to come. Just wait until you're waiting for interviews and checking your emails compulsively every half hour. I got the iphone during that period and I was checking it every six seconds. Literally, people will think you have gone crazy. My advice would be to take a break from SDN NOW while waiting to be verified and dont come back until you're doing secondaries.

Another thing to consider, don't focus on "dream schools" so much. I know its hard not to do, but its not a good idea. The accomplishment of getting into medical school alone is HUGE. And, as many on these boards can tell you, what is your dream school at the beginning of the cycle will more often than not change in the duration, often after interviews.

Just relax, take a deep breath and keep busy. Good luck!

Yes it does but I do remember the thrill of waking up to interview invitations in your mailbox. That was pretty cool, and the ridiculous feeling of calling the adcom to ask if you got in or not, and holding your breath...that 15 second wait of "let's see let me pull up your file" was the worse.
