Hi,

I'm new to this and need some advice :

Many threads said "apply early, june/july, and take the April MCAT " ?

Does that mean I am late to seek Fall 2009 admission ?

(I plan to take the MCAT in Jan. since I have not reviewed for the exam yet )

Do I stand a chance for Fall 09 admission if I do ~ well in MCAT in Jan. ?

and please explain about "rolling admission" ? (so confused to me)

Thank you very much in advance for you inputs.

You're not too late, but you are quite late. You stand a chance with a good score. Rolling admissions means that they start to accept students from around September through the first day of class, or so. This makes it more competitive as the season progresses, due to having much more people and much fewer seats at the end of the season than at the beginning.

Thanks a lot for your advice, Chocolate Bear 🙂

(not only on my thread, but I found you're very helpful on other threads also.)

Just to let you know that we're all very APPRECIATED your help.😍

GO DOs.....

Be sure to check very carefully each schools policy on the latest MCAT you can take for the following cycle. For example, Wayne State University will not accept any MCAT taken later than September 2008 for admission in Fall 2009. However, some schools don't have policies like these. Also check to make sure that you will not miss AMCAS and/or secondary application deadlines. Good luck.

Interviews tend to go until May (sometimes June) To give you a timeline: If you take a January MCAT you will recieve your score by Febuary. If you asume that your AACOMAS is already verified by before your scores are realeased, adcoms will take the next 2-4 weeks to send you secondaries. So in essence, you will be have your secondaries by March and hopefully have them filled out by the end of the month. This means that you will be scheduled for interviews in April or May...the last two months of interviews.

It's cutting it a little close (considering most people will have been in the system since June), but still possible asuming you have a very solid application. I did March interviews myself which is towards the end of the cycle and still got some love. Good luck!
