Hey guys,
This might be a stupid question but I've been wondering it for a few days.
Do some medical schools require you to live on campus/dorms or are you free to live anywhere you want?

I’m not aware of any school that requires you to live on campus, and that would be nuts. I have seen housing on most schools websites that says on campus housing is available. At this point everyone applying is an adult.

I have also never heard of a medical school that mandates on-campus living.

Thanks! Just making sure.

Maybe one of the Jesus ones? How else are they going to make sure you become a pure and abstinent doctor?

My school doesnt even provide dorms lol

Some schools in very expensive cities, e.g., in Manhattan, have subsidized dorms. I have never heard of a requirement to live there. You are an adult and can live where you want. Most schools do not have any form of school-owned housing.

Just be aware that your Med school loans grow at a monstrous exponential rate the day you take them out.

Keep that in mind.

On the other hand, you should also be as comfortable as possible for what may likely be the most stressful (but most memorable... or miserable) time of your life
