When does RFU send out info about immunizations, transcript updates, financial/scholarships? I was accepted in November but I have not received anymore information since then. Am I excluded from the possibility of receiving some type of scholarship from the school since it didn't come with the acceptance letter?

I was interviewed on 11/13 and got an acceptance letter on 12/27. I'm OOS, 3.75/39. Probably not going to go here, though I really liked the school. I want to see what kind of financial aid they offer before I withdraw, sorry about that, and good luck to everyone else.

Hey, I am an accepted student and I have not recieved anything either. I tried calling, but it went straight to the answering machine. I also want to know about this as well!

I'm assuming another adcom meeting is approaching, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed about an acceptance. I really want to be able to discuss financial aid issues with the rest of you!😀

Hi I also interviewed at RFU last week and I thought it was a great school. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knew their exact pass rate percentage in the boards as well as that for their first choice matches.

I thought RFU said there was a tuition freeze for few years. Did they just lift that? The tuition is now 39k? 😱

tuition was 39k last year..

does anybody know if RFU allows appeals of their pre-interview rejections?

Those of you that have interviewed at RFU.. What are your stats?

I just got an email from their financial aid office wanting to verify my citizenship status. I interviewed in November and this is the first thing (apart from their post-interview survey) that they have sent me since. Is this a good sign? Or do they send this to all applicants who fill out a fafsa? Nobody from RFU is willing to tell me anything over the phone at this point.

what are our chances if we're canadian? is it a really low ratio (i have an interview in march) between interviewed and marticulated?

US news says it's about 65%. That was one yr after probation and name change, so things may be different this yr.

Here's are my stats...I loved the school. Maybe they'll love me too.

for US med schools, RFU is one of the more canadian friendly schools. I don't know the exact stats but we have a few canucks in each class it seems.

Good luck, eh!

I just got invited for an interview on April 4th. Do you think that this is just for the waitlist, or do they have any more open spots? Thanks!

Being that its Rosalind Franklin, I'm pretty sure they have spots open. Good luck!

not sure what that means..."being that its Rosalind Franklin". i'll give you the benefit of the doubt though and assume you meant nothing denigrating.

Haha..same here! I interviewed on Feb 12 and have been waiting to hear from Rosalind Franklin ever since. When did you interview?

I hope you hear something soon!! Do you think they are interviewing for the waitlist at this point? Or still for open seats in the class? I am interviewing 3/27.

anyone else checking their mail non-stop?? Here's hoping we hear some good news tomorrow!

I just got an interview today at RFU for April 16th! I've been in the pre-interview hold stage since November so their hold is definitely not a death sentence.

How did you know you were on a pre-interv. hold?😱 Did you call or something? I have not heard anything from them since last November.

Well it may have been a little harsh, but Rosalind Franklin is very low tier med school together with Drexel.

I really do not know why this school has not done something thru the years to improve their image. My parents tell me that 25 years ago it was known as Chicago Med and that it had an outrageous high tuition and a lousy reputation. I believe that they just got off probation two years ago because they were relying too much on tuition for their income. Also note that the name has changed a couple of times as well...( trying to get private money? )

In any case, if it is accredited and one gets in... you can always do better at a more reputable residency which is what really counts!!

Well, it's obvious you know nothing about RFU. Check their stats, they have amazing residency placements, everyone knows that. And their board scores are really high, well above the national average. Know your info before you make premature accusations. 🙄

I agree and would add that the accreditation issue was complex; tuition cost was one small part of it. Now the accreditation issues have been solved, the school is in the cheaper half of private schools, and the tuition is frozen.

anyone else eagerly awaiting decisions in the upcoming week? COME ON RFU DON'T LET ME DOWN, I NEED YOU!

I know the waiting sucks because I wasn't accepted until July. The good news is that it's okay if you don't get an acceptance this month, or the next, or in May because there is movement on the waitlist all summer.

i can't even touch this. it's priceless. Brainbuff better start using his/her own brain pretty soon.

I got my Rosalind Franklin acceptance!!!!! It's my 1st acceptance of the year so I'm extremely HAPPY!!!! 😀😀😀

I interviewed on Feb 12th and live about 5 minutes away from the school (which is probably why I ended up getting it today rather than tomorrow). For anyone waiting to hear from RFU, make sure to check your mail tomorrow! Good luck to everyone :luck:

Congatulations Inzi 🙂 Rosalind Franklin was my first acceptance too. It feels so amazing, doesn't it? Yay for you!!

Thanks BrainBuff! That's so generous of you to come onto the RFU thread and spread such kind and encouraging words! I hope that someday I can work with someone as down to earth and agreeable as you.

i got my 3/27 interview invite about a week ago. Do you think this is for the waitlist or what?

congrats to everyone who got in!!

Dude, I did not make any premature accusations and what I stated are FACTS.
Chicago Med School (now known as RFU) had one of the highest med schools tuitions in the country 25 years ago, it was placed on probation just a couple of years ago and it is considered one of the low tier med schools. Just check the admissions statistics MCAT and GPA wise.

I did not say anything about their match nor their board scores which are apparently very good. I just commented that it is weird that for so many years the school continues to have the same poor reputation at a national level (A FACT )

Sorry to revisit this, but do not tell me that my comments were innacurate.

Does anyone know how RF views multiple MCAT scores? Thanks for your help!

Congrats on all the interview invites! Send some of that good luck my way! I would love to interview at RFU. 😀

Thanks PistolPete hopefully you'll get an interview too. I'll try sending some of my voodoo magic your way.

Actually, your comments ARE innacurate which is why everyone is dismissing your posts as ridiculous and ill-informed. Who cares about the school 25 years ago? It means nothing, it no longer has that poor reputation that you got from from your parents  And BTW, it is still called Chicago Medical School. Rosalind Franklin is the name of the university that has many other schools and the name of the school of medicine is Chicago Medical School you can't even get that fact right. 🙄 They were on probabtion for funding, that doesn't say anything about the value of their academics. You are basing their reuation on their entering GPA and MCAT score, are you kidding me? If we're doing it like that then RFU is better than Rush, Loyola, UIC, SIU, and CCOM. They obviously have very high board scores and really good residency placements, that's what matters. Whatever, just leave the thread, why are you bashing a school that people are applying to or plan to attend?
