I was just looking at roseman's FAQ page, and it says "Candidates must achieve a minimum science GPA of 3.0 in the last 30 semester hours of science courses to be eligible for initial consideration for the DMD program." Does this mean that they completely disregard your science gpa from prior credits? If so, are there any other schools like this?

Roseman wants students that are getting A's and B's in all the upper-level science courses. Getting A's and B'a for 100 and 200 level courses are usually easier (not always, but usually). That's my understanding. No, not all schools have this strict requirement. Most schools look at overall science GPA so getting A'a in 100 level courses weighs the same as getting an A in a 600 level course (which is odd if you think about it).

Also, a lot of school do holistic review so they review your app meticulously. That is one of the reasons the dental school admission process is lengthy.

I agree with @DMDDDSHopeful. Also based on interviewing at Roseman before, they are looking to make sure you have been recently successful and they will definitely still look at your prior credits for your overall science GPA.

They just want to make sure that your recent performance (30 hours) has been consistent and that you are still doing well in school. There are some people that can have decent looking GPA's but it is a red flag if you find out their last 30 credits was around a 2.0 GPA since it shows that either you started recently slacking or have been having personal problems.
