so is it Peter Rosen, MD that everybody in EM makes a big deal about? if so, what has he done to become such a popular guy?

Write a three volume text that is very well written (albeit long) about every topic imaginable in EM.

Also, if you've seen any of this guy's amateur videos, this boy is HUGE. That's one way he's gotten popular.

He's got a pretty good sense of humour, too, even though he used to be a surgeon. He's still got the surgeon's importance.

He is still working despite being one of the first people in EM. He spends part of the year at San Diego, part in Jackson Hole, part at the U of Arizona in Tucson, and I think part in Boston.

He's popular because he mixes such funny off-color jokes in with his presentations (aside from the book and all.) BTW, he no longer edits the book, as he frequently reminds us when we point out contradictions between "his" book and his lectures.
