Does anyone know if the CD that comes with the Ross Histology Text and Atlas (5th ed.) works in Mac computers? Thanks for the help.

Can anyone get this CD to work with Vista? Ive installed it on both of my computers and both times when I double click the "Ross Histology" icon it instantly says "Ross Histology has stopped working"

Any ideas?

I get that error as well on Windows XP. 👎thumbdown👎

Did you get it working?

Do you guys find histo texts worth the money? Between the class syllabus and my mountain of notecards (omg what kind of epithelium is it?! Is it loose or dense CT?!) I think I've got things covered but I'm curious.

Meister -

Not really. The text goes into a ridiculous amount of detail and it's easy to get bogged down in it. I like it to go through the pictures/captions, but regret dropping $70 on it.

Just read the captions on the Digital Histo program, look at the syllabus, do the Oracles. Spend the money on booze.

Yikes you bought the text? Sucks for you...don't worry soon we'll have our own fresh crop of M1s to pawn our useless texts onto I guess.

Yeeeeeeeeah...normally I like reading a textbook and a syllabus but the Histo one is brutal. I think I'll just stick with BRS books and a syllabus from here on out.

If you open up the figures folder on the CD you can see they are the same figures or plates as in the book.

Worked fine for me on XP. I, for the record, also regret buying the book. A copy of HistoTime was more than enough, when combined with the class notes.

I bought it, but the CD never worked on my computer (XP). I still don't know why.

I bought it because Histology is taught terribly at my school. Others got by without it, but it helped fill in some gaps for me. Maybe I could've done fine with other online resources (I used Blue Histology plenty), but then again, I did really well, so whatever I did ended up working.

I can't get the cd to work on my mac. any suggestions? thanks!
