Recently got accepted to Ross University but worried about spending four years and $200,000 there and not matching. Does anybody know the FACTS with what percentage of students drop out and what percentage match with residencies in the United States. I am especially interested in practicing in NYC/Long Island area. Thanks everyone.

don't have any percentages, but as long as you study hard, you'll do fine. Getting a residency, especially in NYC, should not be a problem. Had no problem getting lots of interviews and a residency position, as well as several friends in the same situation.
Tough living there, but it's only temporary. Great diving! Have fun, study hard, you'll get your match. Don't worry.

The match list was just posted on their website. Plenty of matches in the NY/NJ area.

According to logic, if Ross accepts about 400-500 students per year and 265 matched in 2006 and (in addition) probably half that number pre-matched (signed a contract outside of the match) then you are looking at the average of 10-18% attrition rate.

If you pass the boards and have decent interpersonal skills you should have no problem getting a primary care residency in the NYC area.If you decide on a surgical subspecialty or Rads then you will encounter problems but many Family Practice and IM programs in the northeast are happy to take Ross grads.

Agree about primary care (have no personal experience with the sub-specialties mentioned) as I know of two residents who were from Ross who were chief residents in primary care specialties.

Wook

What about IM sub-specialties, like Heme-Onc?

no one knows about sub specialities. thats way down the line. No school will have that info.

that all depends on where and how you do in residency

Is this the complete list?
I met a couple Ross grads on the trail for neurology and there is just one match under "transitional/neurology" to WVU.
I just wonder what happened to them. Nice guys.

list is far from being complete.

school doesnt receive any match info, so its up to each individual student to tell the school where and what they matched.

So if you don't see it, its more likely that they didn't tell the school.
