Does anyone here wants to apply or already has applied to Ross Univ?
What's so good about it? What are the advantages and disadvantages of it? What's their drop out rate compared to a US school?

Thanks

Disadvantage would be that you will be a foreign graduate. You will have harder time getting the residency compared to the U.S. school graduate. I don't know what the advantages are.

advantage: easier to get in

Ross U.. it's hard to distinguish between rumor and fact for that school.

TTSD is right. there are enormous rumors about this school, but I believe that if you get accepted then you need to decide for yourself if that is the right decision for you. I met a Ross graduate at work (resident) who filled me in on the school. he said that it was an amazing place to go to school and if you want something you will work hard at it like everyone else. He had no problem getting hired for residency through the hospital, so it must not be impossible. good luck with your decision.

The problem with Ross is that will it accept just about ANYONE in ENORMOUS class sizes. So that would mean a large percentage are going to fail, and some people attribute this to a tactic from the school itself to generate more money by holding people back or just accepting people who shouldn't be in medical school.

Asides from that, and the living conditions those who leave I hear do fairly well for themselves.

But if you don't want to go through that, the best bet would be SGU for your money and AUC. Both have their pros and cons but both undoubtedly fine schools.

Asposted above, the best site for Carib school Q&A is http://www.valuemd.com

Each school has its own forum and the threads run the gamut from rabble to really interesting.

They frequently talk about a "top3" or "top5"... Those being St. Georges, AUC, Ross, Saba, St. Matthews.
