I want to do a rotation as a 3rd year somewhere in the west, but I want to do it in a location where residency spots are available, specifically osteopathic programs. I checked Western, but it looks like they only accept 4th year students. Also, I heard Arizona is going to start a PM&R residency program, but I do not know if they accept 3rd year students. Also, are they really opening up a residency program in AZ? What about UC Davis, do they accept 3rd years? UC Irvine? VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System Program? Thanks!!!

I do not think most places accept 3rd year students. you can look up the programs via google and it should be on their websites. you can also call the program coordinators

western does not accept, but Rancho Los Amigos hospital in downey, which used to be a loma linda site does. that would primarily be an inpt experience (TBI, SCI, stroke, debility)

Agree with Oreos. Gonna be hard to find a place to do a rotation as a 3rd year. Save it for early 4th year to do as an audition rotation at a place you want to do residency.

You should be more concerned about strength of the program than geography unless you have a spouse that has a job they cant relocate which limits you to a region in my opinion.
