Does a high pass in a radonc rotation pretty much end my chances of getting into a residency program? I don't know how schools will view something that is not an honors, but I can't imagine that they would look upon it favorably.

Anyone have any experience or know what happens to people with a HP on their profile?

Don't sweat it too much. I ended up with a B+ (roughly high pass) at my HOME institution, and matched pretty well. Some folks for whatever reason are quirky about giving out honors grades, and programs will certainly evaluate the "whole package" when screening candidates. As much as "uber-candidates" are discussed on this forum, we all have shortcomings on our applications. If this is what you want to do, keep at it.

The letters of recommendation are far more important than the actual letter grade.

I am currently on my second visiting rotation. My first experience was at a top institution and I got a great "big name" letter (I got to read it). However, this rotation is not going nearly as smoothly...I am working my butt off, but the opportunity to 'show what I know' does not seem to be there. It is mainly scutwork. I don't know how my grade will end up, but I am wondering about a letter. I sent in 3 rad onc letters already (2 names, 1 private) and a research letter. Is it a big deal to not get a letter from my last rotation? I am sure someone will write a decent one if I ask, but I just don't think it will be a "great" one.

Appreciate the advice.

Tough call. You have a lot of letters already, so I personally would not add another unless you are confident it will be strong. If there is one particular attending you had a good rapport with however, I would ask him/her if they would be comfortable writing you a "strong" recommendation.

Good luck!
