Hii

Does your schools have IN-HOUSE written exam OR NBME/NBOME based exam during rotation?

Please state advantages and disadvantages.

NBME - they were VERY diccicult to pass and we were graded compared to all students who take it, including allopathic students. I think that was unfair because as students prepare for USMLE Step 2, they are preparing for the NBME shelf exams as well. The COMLEX Level 2 seems very different in focus and I wish we would use the NBOME shelf exams which seem to be retired COMLEX questions. Having said that, I'd rather have NBME over in house exams written by preclinical professors.

same here BUT my college goes for inhouse exams because NBME/NBOME exams are expensive.

At CCOM, the rotation exams are the NBME shelf exams.

UNECOM exams are based off the NMS review books. Questions are pulled from the question bank from each book. So in-house, but not written by pre-clinical professors.

In house examinations of variable quality/difficulty written by/approved by the course coordinator for each rotation.

For INHOUSE, is it same questions on exam for everybody?

somebody who has done rotation A before his friend might give away questions.

In house exams, wish they were the NBME exams.

I heard ( don't know if it is true) my college uses EXAMMASTER

had any experience?
