Rotations ... Help!

Hey all,

After being bombarded with lot of information the past three years, I finally just started rotations last week. Memorizing different facts was not hard but I am little worried about appropriate application of these facts. What helped you do well on your rotations? Were there any particular reference books you carried with you on rounds? What type of skills do you think will help one succeed during rotations? Thank you for all your help!
