Rotations & Retail Job

Hi I'm a first year and have a question:
What do you do when you're on rotations and have a retail job you've been working?

Is it normal to still work a shift on the weekend? Like say you work full time M-F for your rotations and then work a shift on the weekend for your retail job?

What if you do out of state rotations (IPPE or APPE)? Is it unheard of to take several weeks off from your retail job to do an out of state IPPE/APPE rotation?

I have an intern at my pharmacy that does this exact scenario. He shows up when he can and when he can't they understand. So it isn't unheard of.
