Is correct to call registered phamacists (no PharmD) Dr.(blank)???? If not, what?

When I worked at a retail pharmacy, everyone would call the pharmacists by their first name. It's weird though, the managers would be called by their last name. Some of the managers didn't even graduate college. I remember the pharmacist saying that some of the newer graduates were requiring everyone to call them Dr. (whatever), but his attitude about it was that they came off like being jerks for telling people to only refer to them as Dr. (whatever). I dunno. I don't really like it when people call me by my last name anyways.

It would be inappropriate to call a pharmacist with a BS Pharm "Dr." We have one RPh on our teaching staff at my university who is a BS Pharm and they are listed as "Mr. so-and-so" on our syllabus + communication for the course, whereas all the PharmD's are referred to as "Dr. so-and-so."

Typically, pharmacists are only referred to as "Dr." in an academic setting.
