has anyone being rejected from there pre-interview/post-secondary. I'm just wondering if that post-secondary hold is a good thing or what? thanks for the info guys. I know I already asked this in another thread, but was to lazy to look it up and bump it. thanks again.

Sorry I can't help but do you mind telling me when your file was complete and how long it took to get the "hold" letter? My file has been complete for around six weeks and I haven't heard anything at all. Thanks.

you should hear from them soon opus03 (although with the holidays might take a little longer), my file was complete for about 6 weeks and I got the hold letter sent to my permanent address 😕 (my parent's place) on 12/20/02. well best of luck to you and does anyone else have more info about this hold thing?

I just don't know about Rush either. I'm on hold (rejection). Ha. I wish you guys the best of luck.

I still think you should change your sn to "Dr. Donk" ---> I love that name. Hahaa, sometimes mistakes produce wonderful things

When I interviewed there (Dec 3), I was back in the back part of the office talking to one of the coordinators. I noticed their files were stacked by accepted/waitlisted/declined after accept. There were not too many acceptances yet, and a whole lotta waitlisted. I really don't think the waitlist is equal to rejection, cause that would be just too many. I heard back from them on the 20th, so I thought they moved pretty fast on my file. I got in but declined due to another acceptance. I got the feeling they weren't accepting that many people too quickly, i was really pretty surprised with how small the accept pile was in december. so don't give up! i think there are a lot of spots left!

What's the best way to find out the status of my app?? (email, call, or etc.) Or should I just wait till they contact me somehow?

I don't know about the calling the office thing (they accept application inquiries for like 15 minutes every Friday), but I've tried emailing them with the email address they sent me and I've never heard from them. I haven't had any luck in finding out the status of my app and I submitted it way back in October. Any suggestions?

They told me to call on a Thursday afternoon, so you might try that. Ask for Kerry Nolan, she's really nice, but she's not in the office very much.

has anyone interviewed in december and heard back yet?...

My app was complete sometime in late October/early November, and I just sat down one Friday for 3 hours and pressed redial over and over again (they ignored my email too) until I got through. They actually told me over the phone I had an interview (they had mailed my letter that morning), but I'm from Illinois, so that might have made a difference. From what I could tell from talking to Jan Schmidt the next week (I was there with a friend for an open house in another program) they're going to start pulling people off that hold list soon for interviews, so don't give up!

oh thanks badgergirl....i actually already interviewed.....i called them today, i got waitlisted, now the agonizing waitilist....at least i have mcv next week to look forward too......oh well....i hope some of you sdner's heard good news......

On the topic of Rush- Has anyone who interviewed mid-December heard anything back yet?

I knew things would be delayed due to the holidays, but now it's been practically a month and I'm freaking out! When I interviewed they made a big point of saying how they "don't believe in delay of gratification" so they call people to let them know of their acceptance. If you are waitlisted or rejected, do they let you know by snail mail?

(Thank God for this forum! I didn't know it existed until today!)

I have a friend who interviewed mid-december and was accepted last week (she called on Thurs afternoon and they said they were just mailing out some acceptances that day).

When I interviewed there they gave me an exact date to call. Even though they didn't have an answer for me then, they were able to update me as to the next time I should call after having gone through committe... For me without the holidays they wanted me to call two weeks later. Best of luck 🙂

Just wanted to insert a little bit of my experience with Rush. Since I'm flying out to UIC to interview in a couple of weeks, I called their office up to ask if they could bump my file up to be reviewed again (it was on hold.) They said they woud do that and to call back in a week, to get a final decision from the admissions committee. I called back today, talked to the same lady -- same response: a final decision hasn't been made. I asked if I could call again, and she said sure, "Next Thursday we should have a final decision."

I dont think that Rush makes a "final" decision on one's application until like may. My friend applied in Oct got on Hold like the rest of us and then in late yes late April got an interview and was accepted by mid May. So a final decision I dont know I think that they keep on reviewing people throughout the cycle. I wish you all the best of luck!

update on Rush: they are starting to review the ON-HOLD applications now and will continue to do so until late february, good luck everyone!

Just to add to the last comment. When I spoke to the people at Rush, they told me that they are now reviewing the "hold" applications (as already said) and they said that they will meet to review these applications every Wednesday until March. They will offers interviews through May.

So does that mean if they don't reach a decision by March, it's a rejection? Will they send a letter of rejection by then? This uncertainty is a real pain, isn't it?😡

I had a quick question...I was told that I could call back in a couple of weeks and I would find out my post interview status.....I haven't called yet but I was wondering if this was really the case...it seems like they normally take a long time getting back to people

annnd....did any of you think you had good interviews and still not get accepted...

hey shake,
yes you can call in and they'll tell you right over the phone. It took a couple weeks for me too, i think it just depends on when they happen to meet.
i know they'll tell you if you're accepted over the phone, but I'm not sure about other things like waitlists...

but if you are in, they WILL tell you that over the phone.

OH AND i have to add! the secretary/receptionist who first gets the call is pretty mean if you say "i'd like to check the status"... so just tell her first that you've already had your interview, and then she'll patch you right through.

BTW..does anyone know if rush has a fitness center of any type...i've heard yes and no....just wondering

No they don't have a fitness center. I like the school alot, but you have to go to UIC and use their fitness center. You might not want to do that when there is 2 feet of snow outside, and winds are blowing 35 miles an hour.

i called and they said that the committe didn't meet....so

either

I'm rejected or waitlisted and they don't have the heart to say it

or

They really didn't meet

what do you guys think?

I think they probably did not meet. They will tell you anything over the phone. I heard some calls come in while I was there interviewing and was talking to one of the admissions coordinators in the back. They do tell waitlists over the phone, I didn't hear anyone get rejected, but I think they will tell you. So likely no decision has been made for you yet.

I don't know, but with me I interviewed on 1/14 and they let me know I got in by mail on 1/30. 1/31 would of been the day of my two week call back on friday to check your status day. So they were pretty good with letting me know right away.

HOLD ON TIGHT PEOPLE, ALL FINAL DECISIONS (INTERVIEW OR NOT) FOR THOSE PUT ON HOLD WILL BE DONE BY NEXT FRIDAY!!! so best of luck to everybody!

has anyone heard from rush about an interview in the last few weeks?

Tick...tock....

I'm hoping their rejection letter sez something like, "we understand you spent way too much time on our ridiculous application" so they'll at least acknowledge my effort 😛

i hear you....it was the last one i sent out cuz it took so darn long...but it did ask some good questions

Hello, I received a Rush interview invite about 2 weeks ago and it is scheduled for 3/11. Good luck to everyone...oh and Ihad been on hold for a while!
