Hello! I've received an acceptance from Rush and Wayne and was hoping to get some insight into peoples' thoughts and experiences with both programs.
Wayne
Pros
Rush
Pros
Overall, I'm not leaning towards either school. I'm hoping to get a lot of research opportunities and go to a school that matches well. One thing that sticks out is the fact that Wayne has the condensed curriculum, which I think is a benefit now that step 1 is pass fail -- basically my thinking is that I will have more exposure in the clinic and gain more experience (eg. research) that will make me stand out from others. However, I feel like chicago has more research opportunities ... very hard to choose.
Wayne
Pros
- condensed curriculum (pre clinical 1.5 yr, clinical 2.5 yr)
- very close to home, can commute and spend 0 on housing/cost of living
- lower tuition
- have heard the school is disorganized
- large class size
- interview felt disorganized
Rush
Pros
- felt more welcomed at interview
- smaller class size
- chicago has a lot of research opportunities
- a little bit further from home
- higher tuition
