Can someone help assist converting CPT to RVU? Isn’t there a table?

yes, but very bulky and difficult to review. if you look at the document, fwiw, 99204 is line 18707.

scroll down to bottom of page and upclick the Excel sheet 4 times (or so), depending on the document size.

column F is RVU (ie wRVU)

I’m looking at at MGMA. It appears median is around 20k/RVU per year? Doesn’t that seem like a lot?

I don’t understand what you’re saying. The average number of wRVUs per yr is 20k? Is that what you’re saying

20k is too many. Median wrvu isn’t a fair metric as hospitals do whatever they want with g2211 and the 2021 e&m coding change.

No idea where you're seeing that. My MGMA data is old (2019) but it shows median RVU at 6,825 and median $/rVU at 68.49. There's no way that median production tripled in the past 6 yrs. It's probably still somewhere around 7-8k/yr.

Our hospital is so inefficient I can’t really do more than 10-11k without killing myself. Been fighting to do procedures past 4pm for 2 yrs

I’m not sure I could see that many.
I may have to pick your brain on that efficiency- though for procedural side, I’m limited by hospital

For clinic side, I only have 2 rooms I can flip between

If you do telehealth, does it pay same as regular office visit?

What am I missing?

By myself. I see around 50 per day. I’m just extrapolating based on my past known 18k plus. That was working 4 days a week.

I’m working 5 days a week and busier.

What an insane work schedule. Props tho, not hating. Just not for me. I’d be north of 1.5M /year with that productivity

Do you have 2 fluoro rooms going simultaneously?

  • Median (50th percentile): ~7,000–8,000 wRVUs
  • 75th percentile: ~10,000–12,000 wRVUs
  • 90th percentile: ~14,000–16,000 wRVUs
  • 95th percentile: ~17,000–18,000 wRVUs
  • 99th percentile: Typically around or just above 19,000–20,000 wRVUs

The average is not hard to hit at all. I work 4 days a week (still 1.0 FTE), last patient at 330P, HOPD, on track to hit >8K wRVU, 2020 schedule too (would expect 9-10K if using 2021), 5 weeks vacation. I take my time and chat plenty with my patients who like talking about the weather, hunting, and topics unrelated to their pain. Our job is really hard to beat.

I hit between 750-800 wrvu per month if no vacation days and work Monday - Thursday… Still ramping up though. 9 work weeks of vacation.

Is it breach of contract that they are still paying you on the 2020 model? Wage theft? I’d look at your contract very closely. They likely have been ripping you off about $50k annually
