would it be possible for someone who is super crazy and manipulative to try to sabotage my application by sending bad fake LOR to my state med schools?
 
I wouldn't think so. For the schools I applied to you had to send in a form with your signature saying you either do or do not waive your right to see the letters. If someone was doing this, first of all I don't think the school would accept the letter without the form, or at the very least you, didn't waive your right to see it so would have access to the letters. On a personal note it would be a pretty funny joke if it worked 😛
 
Considering this is your first post, I am going to assume you are taking another name to appear even more anonymous.

I don't think a fake LOR would work-- all the universities I applied to I wrote the names of the LORs they should expect to receive. I don't know if they would have even accepted one from a "random person."

I suggest calling this school, and asking for the names of your LOR people-- the school will give them to you, so you can be sure.

Also... eeek... someone hates you that much?!!

she spread rumors that my brother raped her, despite his alabi, witnessnes, and her constantly changing stories. they got in a fight on the phone & thats when she started the rumors... since then she has become semi-obsessed w/ stalking/messing up my family's lives.

so yes,she does hate me that much. even though i barely know her.
 
In my experience, the schools have asked me for a list of the people who will be sending the letters (I suppose so they can harass the people if they are slow).
 
Oh god... a crazy female. I apologize for my gender. You need to call the schools and verify what LORs they received. Just ask it plain and simple, without stating why. You don't want to get the word "brother" "girl" or "rape" into the story. Schools are often asked for status updates by their applicants.

I had a crazy girl once stalk me during college, b/c I was dating her ex. Your girl may be unpredictable. You may think a restraining order is overkill... but maybe a formal complaint should be made again her. Start a paper trail.... I did.

I'm serious.

how would someone you hardly know have any knowledge of the app process or the schools to which you applied? sumthin's fishy here.
 
I am in a similar situation right now. I believe she may try to frame me for a crime or do something so I would fail my criminal background check. How would I be able to protect myself from this?

I'd be more concerned about these people finding out the names of admissions staff and harassing them under your name.

This is hilarious. I'll add fuel to the fire - hope you didn't piss anyone off too bad, because this would be a GREAT way to get back at you!

And +1 to goosedander - a person doesn't even have to go to the trouble of writing an LOR that way!

I'm not. I've conversed with the admissions staff plenty of times over the phone and through e-mail. They should know how badly I want to go to their school and that I wouldn't say anything stupid to jeopardize that.

Seriously though, the criminal background check worries me. I am concerned that between now and then she and her friends may set something up so I'll have something on my record and fail the background check. This, of course, would ruin me forever. Any precautions I should take? Lawyers, etc...?

So after being accepted they can't un-accept me regardless of what the background check looks like? That can't be right. Won't they dismiss you if something big shows up?

Yes, but you probably shouldn't have bothered to apply if something "big" was to show up.
 
If you are smart enough to get into a Med School, try to be smarter than Phil Markoff and plan a perfect murder. Kill her and her friend. Well, really? A girl would have the brains to think about how to sabotage a Ex's brother? If its true, my advice stands firm.

The best way to get rid of such a problem is to keep on checking which letter the med school is receiving. Cancel your facebook account and any other accounts where the chick can get ur info. don't get out of the house much. home to school, home to work and back. stay safe. watch your back. sleep with lights on. never visit the last house on the left. always wear gloves to avoid fingerprinting. keep ssn safe. (okay, some of these were jokes)
 
Whatever helps you justify the reason you aren't getting any acceptance letters to yourself...

of course than they can withdraw your acceptance. your acceptances will all be conditional pending background check.

i don't get it - why are you so convinced this person will be able to successfully frame you? background checks bring up your criminal history, which you should be aware of. even if she accuses you of something, you should have the opportunity to defend yourself.

I think they go to all AMCAS this year so if she doesn't know your AMCAS log-in info she can't do anything...I think (on the all AMCAS comment)?
