safe to cancel interviews after good performance?

Hi guys,

I had a really good interview experience at one of my top choices where the lady interviewing me (who is on the admissions committee) basically told me flat out that I would be an excellent addition to their class, and that "you will definitely hear from us again, but unforunately not before december". Now these are pretty strong words but am I safe to assume that I'm accepted ? I have 4 more interviews scheduled later this month and in November and I would really like to save some money on travel. Is it safe to go ahead and cancel a couple or should I go anyway just to be sure. Thanks.

No, it isn't same to assume that you are accepted until they call you and tell you themselves or you have the acceptance letter in your hands.

I would go to all of them! You never know what may happen, life's unpredictable like that and who knows, you might end up liking something about another school.

Congrats on having a great interview though, that's very nice of the admissions member to extend her thoughts about it this early in the process! 👍

meh, you guys are right, better to be safe than sorry at this point. You know they should really start telling us before December 2. I think with med schools they start handing out formal acceptances in october even though their admissions process starts later.

yeah it's nice to have some IV's under my belt but man those travel expenses are really adding up. I really feel for those people with post december interviews who are given little advance notice and have to fork out hundreds more for their fares.
