salary question

I've been skimming through some of the Ob/Gyn salary stuff listed on a variety of surveys floating around this site and I'm just wondering what these salary reports generally include... for example, are these pre-tax? do they include malpractice?

I have the misfortue of being on OB/Gyn currently but I can help you out. I've heard ladies talking at my school's program and they're getting $250K to START. There is no question that, in the right situation, you can make bank in OB/Gyn. If you want to put in the hours, deal with the patients, and ....... I'll stop for now.

$250K to start did account for malpractice, I asked.

Currently the AVERAGE starting salary is around 180K. In rural areas it seems to be about 250K. This includes malpractice and overhead. Once you make partner the avergage seems to be around 400K.
