I've heard that salaries (particularly in EM for instance) vary quite a bit by location - i.e. ppl practicing in NYC aren't necessarily getting paid more than the guy/gal in some random city in Alabama. Is there any published data about average salary for ER docs by region?

Lots of studies out there, but I typically find that the quoted numbers are low. What average community EP only makes $180K? (well maybe California).
