Salicylate poisoning: When exactly does alkalosis become acidosis?

I know that alkalosis occurs "early" and acidosis occurs "late" in salicylate poisoning - and that many sources say the transitions happens "by 12 hours" - but is there a more specific timeframe for when the pH goes from basic to acidic? One official question I saw seems to have you assume this transition has occurred by 3 hours, but I can't find a source for that. TIA
