I have an interview with salus does anyone have any tips?
They just talk about your OATs, your grades (the ones you didn't do well on). They'll make sure you have all the requirements. Thats pretty much about the open file portion.Do you have any more specifics for the open file portion?
Hi, I have a question myself. I want to add Salus to my list, but if I get an interview, do I have to cover cost of travel out of pocket?
Lol, thanks. No one has ever told me who takes the bill and my parents are asking me as if I knew.Of course you do. lol
I was wondering if you could share your interview questions. Mine is next week and I am scared because of my low OAT score 🙁I have an interview with salus does anyone have any tips?
it's very easy, they try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Nothing to be worried about and it was super quick.I was wondering if you could share your interview questions. Mine is next week and I am scared because of my low OAT score 🙁
I had my interview last week and got my acceptance in 3 days. You will be sitting with a group of up to 8 people max (could be less). You start your day with informational session which last about an hour. After, you will start your interviews where they'll take you away one at a time and each person will have someone different! The interview itself was not scary at all, they really just want to know why you're pursuing optometry, what are qualities of a leader you should have, and explain any low grades/OAT scores you my have in certain areas. I have a lot of clinical experience so my interview lasted about 40 minutes since me and my interviewer hit it off, but on average it should be about 20. After you'll have a tour of the clinic then lunch and you'll close your day with a tour of the school/rec center. It's not scary at all and the admissions team is very friendly! If you have any further questions feel free to pm me.I was wondering if you could share your interview questions. Mine is next week and I am scared because of my low OAT score 🙁

That is awesome! Congratulation and your response was very helpful. Is this the school you hope to attend? I am submitting my application soon and how long after did you hear back for an interview?
I'm definitely considering it! I still have two interviews remaining for next week and the week after, but I really love the heavy emphasis on clinical experience at PCO. If I were to specify one con though, it would be the necessity of a car. The clinics aren't awfully far, but they're not walking distance so you will need to drive/carpool. Other then that, the facility is very up to date and even though its a large class size you do get the small class feel! I received an interview offer after a week I think? But I applied very early so that might make a difference. That is awesome! Congratulation and your response was very helpful. Is this the school you hope to attend? No problem and thank you! I wish you the best of luck as well I think it's awesome you already saw the school and know what you want!Thank you for your reply! I had the chance to tour the campus last year and I understand that aspect well, but it is still my top choice. Wish you luck with your other interviews!

Unfortunately my undergraduate did not have a preopt club, but I would personally put it as Extracurricular. I think when it comes to optometric experience, its more asking about any shadowing and works experience you may have had in the field. Unless you feel like the club itself gave you time with an optometrist i would not put it under there.I do have a question, I tried making a thread but no luck. I was a member of my Pre-optometry club in undergrad and I am not sure what to list it under: Extracurricular Activities or Optometric Experience? Not sure what you guys recommend...
