I just took the AAMC FL #3 and #4 and the science passages were much easier than the ones in the Berkeley Review.

Are these sample mcats more indicative of the actual level of difficulty on the real MCAT?

Try the later AAMCs, like 9-11, from what I've read those are more representative!

MCATs vary in their difficulty. You'll get some that are harder and some that are easier, and unfortunately, you'll have no idea what the hell you'll be getting on Test Day. It's good to take a broad spectrum of both hard and easy ones so you can be prepared for anything. Unfortunately, the curves will fluctuate, but your ability to wade through the material will likely fluctuate differently, leading to score fluctuations.

Thanks, one last question.

When you set the option on the AAMC practice FL's to "simulate actual test," is the timing exactly like the real one? Will you have the option to pause on the real test?

I've been noticing that I have a lot of time left over after each section, so I don't want to have a false sense of security going into the actual test.

yes the simulated is the actual time and no you can't pause on the real thing.

you can use the time left over to go over the stuff you marked or simply move to the next section if you like (just like the simulated practice tests).

MCAT is very different from BR. I didn't find TBR questions similar to my real MCAT whatsoever, but it was good practice.

the real MCAT is strange.
