So a very good student who used to work with me in research at my med school just asked me for an LOR. Our PI passed away suddenly last year so I am the most senior person he worked with who actually knows him personally. I'm now at a prelim program so I don't have many people to ask for this sort of guidance, but is there anyone here who could share with me a de-identified sample research LOR? I'm a total newbie at this so any help with how to structure this would be very helpful. He's a very strong candidate but I didn't expect he would want a research letter after all this time (2 years since we last worked together), so still want to put together a strong letter for him because he performed very well. Just don't know what components to have, how to structure, etc.
Really appreciate it!
