Hey. Can anyone direct me to a thread or website that has sample answers to the secondary applcation questions. For some of the essay questions, I don't even have a clue where to begin (or what thay really want to hear).
thanks

Hmm... maybe answering the question wouldn't be a bad place to start?

True. Most questions can easily be answered, so maybe I'll just stress the second part - "What do they want?" - Do they only want the basic and simple answers to their question or are they looking for more unique answes and essays (like I was told thats what they were looking for in the personal statement). great tip though.
thanks

Here's a quick outline that should speed things up for you:

Why medicine?
-The ability to hold people's lives in the palm of my hand like a god.
-(And money.)

What field will you pursue?
-Partial birth abortionist for teenagers

What attracts you to our specific institution?
-This is my safety school.

Anyone else have suggestions?

They want the truth. They want you to speak in your own words, and use your own tone. Trust me, they can see through all the fluff, and would much rather get to know who you are as an applicant rather than who you can pretend to be.

A good place to start is to look at things that you have cut from your personal statement. I had to cut stuff out of my personal statement to bring it down to the required length, but ended up using some of the cut material for secondaries.

If you get really stuck do what my AP English teacher had us do in high school when we were applying to college. Just start writing! Don't stop to edit or think. Just right about why you want to be a doctor, childhood upbringing, what you want out of a medical school, random health care experiences (for those applying next year may I suggest keeping a journal where you make note of volunteer, extracurricular experiences that affected you). Then go research the schools that you are applying to!

Why medicine?
-I like to see/touch/smell naked women

What field will you pursue?
-Plastic surgery

What attracts you to our specific institution?
-Nothing

On a serious note, I agree with several of the posts above. There is no "right answer" that AdComs want. In secondaries or interviews, saying what you think they want to hear might actually hurt your chances (by making you look superficial and obsequious.)

Instead of stamping out cookie-cutter responses, try to articulate your motivations/goals with a unique style, tone, and content that will make your application stand out from others.

(Of course- don't be too avant-garde.)

Good luck!

You people are a bunch of geniuses. thanks for the tips.
Should I get in detail why I want to be a proctologist?😀

You say to just answer the questions, but do you answer the questions directly or just include the answer in a long drawn out essay? One of the secondaries I got says to address the following two questions in a one page essay. Do I include the questions as part of the esaay?
