Hey group,

Just wondering who out there is attaching reimbursement codes for structured substance abuse screening (i.e. SOAPP-R/ORT or PMP database checks) as part of their E&M coding for patients?

For commercial patients: 99408/99409

Medicare: G0396/G0397 or G0442/G0443

Are you all getting paid for these added codes?

i honestly havent tried.

i just bill on extended follow up 99154 or whatever it is, and use the primary pain diagnosis code - because they all have a primary clinical indication for being on COT - and Z79.891 - long term current use of opioid analgesic.
