Hi all,

How are Scaled Scores determined? Since the max scaled score is 600 and 40 questions are graded on each section, is each correct answer just worth 600/40 points? I can't seem to find any sort of explanation on the PCAT website.

Thanks!

It depends on the difficulty of the test. It's like the ACT where they list each score and assign the number of questions you have to get right to get each raw score. For example, on an easy test on the ACT, you get 36 for all correct and 34 for one incorrect. But for a difficult test on the ACT, you get 36 for all correct, and also 36 for one incorrect. I'd imagine the PCAT would be scored similarly when it comes to those raw scores.
