Scandal in the MRI Dept--Suggestion for JC article discussion

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
There was a similar paper out of the netherlands 2-3 years ago. They had to load the guy with viagra in order for the plumbing to work.

(it's only a 'scandal' if you think that sex is not a subject worthy of research)

haha. this is so funny.
i like their conclusion: "MRI allows a noninvasive assessment of sexual intercourse."
really?? i was looking for a non-invasive assessment of sexual intercourse!

I had envisioned a resident and their significant other being there late at night and thinking 'I wonder what an MRI of us having sex would look like' and then decided to publish after they saw the results. :)

I would envision a resident and one of the tech-students being there (without the knowledge of his significant other).....

Four quick observations:

1) Clearly the US is not the only country with cutting edge research, so we should start lobbying congress for funding this line of research, we would not want to fall behind the French.

2) That must have been one hell of a fast MR scanner.

3) This is the first time I've heard of someone assessing "penetration" for an MRI.

4) Given that the urologists did this study, this sounds like a turf battle we need to fight!
