Well, we’ll be scheduling 4th year not too far off from now (yeah, I can’t believe it either).
Anyway, at my school we’re required to declare a pathway and do the required rotations in whichever we choose. I am very much undecided but every pathway includes a medicine sub-i and plenty of room for electives.
How should I approach this? Im assuming some medicine sub-i’s are better than others (obviously site dependent but im assuming CCU has a more demanding type schedule). Wbat about electives/aways? For electives do you just pick what you might be interested in or just kind of spread it out amongst a bunch of specialties. What specialties don’t require aways? Granted, as of now my top choice residency program offered me a spot as a 4th year which would be an away for me (FM).
Any advice? Probably overthinking this but after the enormous stress of med school, I want an enjoyable fourth year.
