I know I'm not the only one to have this issue, but I didn't see a thread on it; how do you plan aways when there are different fields you are interested in, but haven't done your core rotations in that field? I am interested enough in both EM and ortho to plan aways, but am I just going to have eat the cost of whichever one I cancelled? I guess I'm just confused about the etiquette and best way to handle it.

You might try posting this in the EM thread, where I'm sure you will get more responses. Sorry, I can't offer much advice because I decided on EM fairly early and was able to secure my away rotations, but as you mention I'm sure ther are other in your same predicament.
