Im a 4th year at UTMB...I have 6 interview offers so far, and have scheduled 5 of them -

Driscoll Children's Hospital (Corpus Christi) on Dec 1
UT Houston on Dec 7
Scott and White on Dec 13
Austin on Dec 15
Southwestern on Dec 17

I still have to schedule my UTMB interview. That is my first choice.

Now, granted, I know everybody there really well, but do any of y'all have advice as to WHEN I should schedule that interview? Should I do it before the others, since I know everyone and get on well with everyone? Or, since its my 1st choice, should I wait and schedule the interview after the others?

I know I'll also ask people AT UTMB, but Id appreciate any advice from here anyways 🙂

thanks!

You may want to schedule it at the end of your interview season for the following reasons:
#1 You don't have to travel there so you don't have to schedule a block of time around the interview
#2 You will already be "warmed up" to the interview process and will have lots of practice
#3 Even though they know you, your interview will be fresh in the their minds when it comes to reviewing applications.

Just something to think about, it probably doesn't matter at your home school as much as it would somewhere else considering you already have one foot in the door. Best of luck to you. :luck:

I plan to schedule my home interview while I have to be there anyway for a rotation and will just ask for a day off. The interviews I have to travel to are mostly during vacation time so I will have time to visit the city while there. So I would just say schedule whenever is convenient. It's your home school, you're probably already on the top of their list no matter when you interview.
