I am currently a senior, hoping to apply next round to MD/DO programs, Still haven't taken orgo2 will be taking it over winter session. Was only going to take 2 courses next semester until I found out I need one more to get pre health committee LOR. If I take the MCAT in late June is that too late? Should I take the extra class, in order to get committee LOR?
WIll I have enough time to study if I study during the course of next semester and then the 1 full month from graduation to MCAT ?

Dream school is Stony Brook - NYS resident (Long Island)
cGPA 3.7
sGPA ~3.6
No research experience (except for one semester in psychology lab)

I personally would not take anything later than an April date. You need to be ready to go June 1st to give yourself the best odds. That being said, don't take the MCAT until you are ready and scoring in your desired range consistently.

I know people who are getting interviews who took the MCAT later in the summer. With that said, I would recommend that you schedule your MCAT such that you received your scores by the beginning of July at the latest - so that would mean an early June test date at the latest. I say that because you can submit your application to AMCAS so they can go through the process of verifying it before you get your MCAT scores. AAMC will not send any AMCAS apps to medical schools until late June/early July - when you would have your scores back anyway - so it doesn't matter.

To be clear - use this timeline if you want to be the earliest of early birds in the process. Otherwise again I know people who receives MCAT scores in late and August who are doing just fine this cycle.
