Do people here know of some drawing software to use to make those schematics they have in papers with cells releasing stuff which acts on other cell types, etc. The stuff we see in Nature Reviews type papers...

Or do you just use PPT?

I used to use powerpoint. I was able to score Adobe Illustrator through my lab. Makes a humongous difference. I learned Illustrator in an afternoon and can now make a professional-looking figure in a couple hours. Get your hands on a copy if at all possible, or just use it in a campus computer lab or a common lab computer.
