I've heard of scholarships for law and medical schools, but never heard of anyone getting for pharmacy school, has anyone else?

There are scholarships from the chain pharmacies for the low, low price of your soul :meanie:

Even those are drying up now though.
Our dean keeps sending us scholarship websites, but they all say "for those interested in community pharmacy", and I'm not a good liar. I applied for one that was awarded by DSHP, but that was to only one person in Delaware and I didn't get it.

I think he is considering medicine instead of pharmacy.

I thought about, yes. But there's something about pharmacy... So maybe Med school is my backup? Something I consider out of my fears for Pharmacy.

I think those are undergraduate schools that he applied to...not pharmacy schools. Correct me if I'm wrong Chemistwiz...

No you're right. Thank you for clearing that up. I need to edit my list anyhow.

SHC received a scholarship if memory serves me right.

Yeah I got a $6000 scholarship for my P1 year b/c my undergrad GPA was above a 3.75. I got a $7000 scholarship this year b/c my P1 GPA was a 4.0. Some pharmacy schools offer scholarship if your GPA is high.

Wow. Is it automatic (i.e., anyone above the threshold)?

Yeah for my school anyone that has above a 3.75 coming into the school will automatically get a scholarship. The money varies by year...I heard this year all the P1 with a GPA of 3.75 or above got $7500.

If you get a 4.0 your first year you will get another scholarship for your second year and if you keep your 4.0 your second year you will get a scholarship your third year and so on...

Wow, 4.0? We don't have anyone with a 4.0 in our class (as many of our exams have averaged around a 65, with no curves). The GPA cutoff is around a 3.65 for us for Rho Chi.

There are usually like 15 to 19 people that finish their P1 year with a 4.0 and about 7 to 9 that finish their P2 year with a 4.0 and about 2 to 3 people that finish their P3 year with a 4.0...so yeah...it gets harder. I hope I am one of the two P3 with a 4.0...would be nice to keep on getting scholarships.
