With people posting that they get scholarships with their acceptance letter. Is it something additional part of the internal application, or does the school just assign a scholarship to you based on your disadvantage essay/background/stats/experience?

Help appreciated as always.

It really depends on the school. At Case... Your acceptance letter says you've been nominated for a merit scholarship, but you have to submit an additional essay to be selected to receive it. At UCLA, a separate scholarship committee awards scholarships to people who have been accepted based on the info in their amcas app....theres no additional essay to write.

Depends on the school. Many schools have separate applications that must be filled along with the FAFSA.
