"Medical College Admission Tests taken after May 31, 2007 will not be accepted for fall 2007 applicants."

I don't want to seem dumb but I do not fully understand this statement from the Scholl website. I am applying in the Fall of 2007 for the Class of 2012. I will take the computerized MCAT exam later this year. However, this statement makes it seem that people need their placement tests done 3 months before interviewing. Is this correct? I thought I could have the summer to study and prepare for the exam. I always thought many people don't even apply in the beginning of the application process (September) so when you took your MCAT was not that much of a big deal. I read on SDN that people are even accepted without MCAT scores at first and just have an agreement to take them before matriculation. Sorry for being stupid but I would just like to clarify this. Thanks all.

You are applying IN the fall of 2007 not FOR fall 2007. That is a big difference. What they are saying is that you have to have the MCAT done by May if you want to start school in September.

It means that if a student intends to start the class of Fall-2007 . And suppose they still need to send the MCAT scores. Then they need to take their MCAT by May-2007, they cannot take MCAT after May,2007.

The reason behind this, if someone takes the exam after May, think when will the school recieve the scores. It takes nearly 2-3 months (Now with computerized it can be 1 month, but no one know's so far how its gonna work) for the scores to get processed. If the guy takes MCAT after May (lets say June, he will get the scores in 2-3 months, means he will have his scores by mid august or early september, Scholl starts mid - late august, so its gonna be too late).

Think When will schools revieve scores? , when will they process it ? and its going to be too late.Tats why they dont accept MCAT's from applicants of 2007 after May,2007 .

You will have no problem bcoz u r applying for Fall-2008.This doesnt apply to u. Keep in mind, though u r applying in Fall,2007 u r still a 2008 Applicant.

Ah thanks guys. Sorry for the misconception. So taking the MCAT the summer of next year is decent for applying in the fall? I am gonna apply as early as possible to get the best shot of getting in. thanks
