Hey guys there are a few schools I am really interested in going too, I just wanted to see what you thought my chances are when I apply August 1st. I have a 2.95 science, a 3.38 overall and a 24 on the MCAT. I'm really interested in Azpod, Des Moines, Scholl, and Temple. Let me know what you think, thanks so much!

It would be better if your science GPA was at least a 3.0. But if you apply early, I think you will be competitive applicant at all those schools. You have a good shot! 👍

That's what I'm worried about most is the Science GPA, it's lower but I want to make sure I can apply the first weeks of August to have a chance. I don't have enough time to raise it up anymore. Do you think being barely below a 3.0 science will kill my chances? That's what worries me most

I believe that you will get in somewhere. Applying early will improve your chances 👍

Get that science up to 3.0 and you will get scholarship money.

I would love the scholarship money, but I don't have any more classes that I'm going to be able to take before applying. What do you think my chances are with getting into those schools? All I want is to get in, that's all I'm worried about right now

You should get into to each school you apply to as long as you have greaer than a 5 in each section of the mcat. example: 10 10 4 or something like that may raise some flags. I think you are good. ALso, look at some of UNE's online medical sciences classes like medical biochemistry. These classes can give you a solid foundation to year 1 pod classes and can bump that gpa up enough for scholarship money. For instance, the same biochem class (UNE) used the exact same book now at my pod school. Since you have already went through the same book at the D.O. level, you should be comfortable with the material duing pod class. All my medical science books are either a exact match or same author, different edition match for my first yr pod classes. I feel so lucky I look these classes last year. Good luck.
