  1. Pre-Dental
Hey all, I will be reapplying this to dental school this cycle and was hoping to receive some suggestions as to which schools to apply to.
My stats are as follows
Florida resident
GPA (overall and science): 3.7
DAT (AA/PA/TS): 25/23/25
Over 300 shadowing hours of general dentist and a couple specialtists
Over 200 volunteer hours
Just recently started working as a dental assistant in an endodontists office, will have about a month and a half of experience there by the time I apply.

Like I said, I am a reapplicant. I interviewed at Florida, UAB, UNC, and Louisville last cycle and was only waitlisted at Louisville. After contacting UAB and Florida, both of which denied early, I received the following feedback. UAB simply said to reapply because my application was competitive, an advisor at Florida told me I needed to up my shadowing and involvement hours. Since my last application I will have added close to 200 shadowing hours and 100 volunteer hours and have started work as a DA like previously stated. My list of schools to apply to for this cycle is: Florida, UAB, UNC, Louisville, Nova, LECOM, Tufts, Midwestern AZ, and Maryland. Any help/suggestions for this list would be much appreciated!

Wow you got denied with that stats..?

Were these your stats the first time you applied?

Academic wise, yeah same stats. I'll admit my Florida interview wasn't great but my other interviews felt like they went really well. A far as shadowing, I had about 200 hours and around 100 volunteer hours

How many schools did you apply during the first time? You should have applied to 10 schools the first time around, and you should have included safety schools.

I applied to 8 schools, none of which would likely be considered "safety" schools. Kind of why I'm reaching out for more opinions this time

Definitely apply to more schools, I had lower stats than you, and only 100 hours volunteering, 100 hours shadowing, and was still able to get into 3 schools, Rutgers, Temple, and LECOM, and I also had interviews at UPenn and UPitt.

I definitely plan to. I just wasn't sure which schools to apply to, being from Florida, just want to be sure they are OOS friendly

Your stats are amazing. Did you apply really late or something?

No I applied pretty early. Like I said, my volunteer and shadowing numbers weren't as high last year as they are now but they weren't too far off from average

Good news guys, I got accepted to Louisville yesterday! I really liked this school and am so thankful for this opportunity, I was really starting to stress reapplying. Thanks everyone for the help/advice
