Hi all,

I would just like to thank everyone for any/all advice to begin with.

I have an acceptance at LECOM for their LDP pathway, and that's my only one so far. But I'm ranked #4 on TOUROcom (in harlem, NY) high waitlist, and they said I would most likely get in there.

I know both schools have pluses and minuses; LECOM being known mostly for primary care, while TOURO is still quite young and weak on rotation locations and still finding quality teachers. On top of that, is there anything else to consider/where would you go???

**One big plus for LECOM is how cheap it is. Both the school and property in the area.

What is your profile like in terms of GPA, MCAT, etc? if you dont mind me asking...

Im no qualified to advise, but I would say try to apply at the school that offers a curriculum you like.

Well It's not about applying; I'm figuring I'll be getting an acceptance at both places, and trying to pick which one.

They always tell you the good things in the orientations and I don't know how to "value"/rate a school; I was wondering if any current students had anything to say.

but in any case
GPA: 3.6
sGPA: 3.3
MCAT: 31R
Undergrad: Univ. of Illinois-Chicago

I was asking about to GPA and stuff for me because I want to apply to enter 2012.

👍👍👍 😎

Ok, so you have one for sure and one likely acceptance, Congrats! (I am hopefully in your shoes next year 😉 )

To the subject at hand... For me, of these two choices, LECOM would be a no-brainer. Reasons: cheaper everything means less loans. Lots of schools are known for PC that doesn't mean you have to go into it, all of DO is known more for primary care than specializing, it doesn't stop people from doing MD and DO residencies in specialties. Safety, I can't think of a place I'd like to be less than NYC (too much crime)... However, with Touro, you get all kinds of extra holidays off, that might be nice... 😉 There are lots of people on this forum from both schools... PM them and ask what they think....

Thanks Guys! And I hope both of you get in for sure. Make sure you apply super early.
