Cumulative GPA: 3.93
SGPA: 3.89
MCAT: 512 129/126/128/129
CA resident and URM
- Clinical Hours: About 400 (200 as an EMT and 200 as a hospital volunteer). I plan to continue working as an EMT throughout my gap year so that should add around 2000 hours of clinical experience.
- Non-Clinical Volunteering: I have around 700-800 hours. 450 or so are from volunteering with various food distribution initiatives to help combat food insecurity in disadvantaged populations. Another 200 or so with Crisis Text Line, and then around 100 working as a free tutor.
- 450 hours as a Teaching Assistant in various disciplines
- 1000 hours of research on organic synthesis research. (Publication in process with a presentation at a national conference)
- Another 120 hours or so in molecular biology research
- Started non profit for mental health and raised $4000
Any advice would be appreciated, I know my MCAT is OKish but it is a little low compared to what I had been scoring on FLs. Let me know if you have any questions and Thank you!

You have a powerful application that could apply to just about everywhere. You definitely don't need to retake your MCAT. Apply broadly and you should get several interviews. You could use admit.org to create a preliminary school list and then post it here for feedback.

You can aim higher since you are an URM. Apply to schools where the average/median MCAT is 513-517.

I was going to say the admit.org kind of downplayed their app. High research, strong MCAT (for URM), and excellent EC? The reaches are more like Targets lol. T20's are the reaches.

Any advice on this list? I am just trying to finalize everything. Thank you for all the help!

I'd drop Nova, Rosalind Franklin, Wisconsin, Penn State, Minnesota, UCR (unless from IE), and UCF (maybe you meant USF). You could add some T20s and other high-ranked schools if you want.

On the contrary, I'd keep RFUMS/Chicago Medical because your MCAT doesn't warrant them to automatically yield-protect against you. Granted, being URM means that other schools could look at you, and you may not "fall through the cracks" to be available for RFUMS...
